Beth and Kane’s dreamy winter wedding at Combermere Abbey was one of our 4 December weddings we had the joy of photographing last month. We’d chatted with Beth and Kane a week or so before their big day and were excited to meet not only them and their family and friends but also two other VIPs (Very Important Pooches), Walter and Ruby, their adorable British Bulldogs! Combermere is a brilliant venue for large groups of guests to stay together in the cosy courtyard cottages for the weekend and extended the celebrations to more than one day.

Bride’s Squad & Bacon Butties

Our morning started with the bride-to-be and her bridesmaids. Hair and make-up was being done by two lovely and very talented ladies, Vicky of Vicky M Hair and Make-Up by Frankie. After photographing the details, Tobiah went to see what the boys were up to. The boys’ cottage was a hive of activity from ironing shirts to making bacon butties! Laura stayed with the girls who were sipping prosecco and opening their lovely gift boxes from the bride. Soon it was time for everyone to get out of their “Bride’s Squad” robes and into their dresses!

Kane and the boys made their way to the Glass House for the ceremony ahead of the bride, her super proud dad and bridesmaids. Two very excited guests were especially waiting for Beth to arrive, of course, it was Walter and Ruby! During the ceremony Walter brought the rings to the front making the cutest ring bearer to date and after promises were made and sealed with a kiss, the new Mr & Mrs exited into the courtyard where guests were waiting with handfuls of confetti. After a little chatting and many congratulations, we stole Beth and Kane away for a few relaxed portraits around Combermere.

Spoilt for Choice

We always have so many options at Combermere for places to choose and everything looks so pretty year round. This is always something to consider if you visit your wedding venue in a different season to the one you will be married in but this venue has lots of options no matter what month or season.

For winter weddings we like to prioritise the couple’s photographs ahead of any group shots. It was almost time for the wedding breakfast to begin so whilst Tobiah and the videographers stayed with the bride and groom a little longer, Laura set up an area for the few group photographs to be taken before dinner.

Dinner & Dancing

After some delicious food and speeches, the evening could begin! It was great to work alongside the awesome Andy Murphy who always knows how to get the night off with a bang!

Let Love Sparkle!

Beth and Kane were led in to the Pavilion for their first dance as husband and wife by a tunnel of sparklers and lots of whoops and cheers from their nearest and dearest. After the first dance, a display of “The Worm” by one guest and lots of dancing, we said our fond farewells.

We loved every bit of this winter Combermere Abbey wedding and we hope you Jenny looking through some of our favourite photographs from the day!
