This is the brilliant wedding of Greg & Sarah from Combermere Abbey in Shropshire. We had so much fun photographing this one and working alongside Rebecca Reville who was videographer for the day along with her assistant George.

Despite the heavy storms all around the country and lots of rain, we had a wonderful time photographing their wedding.  We used a few tricks and along with a fearless and easy-going couple were able to get lots of photographs outside despite the rain!

Sarah and Greg had booked out the cottages at Combermere and this is where our day began.  Greg and the boys were in good spirits and Tobiah enjoyed spending time with them in the morning before the ceremony, even sampling, after the groom insisted, a sip of 2004 Dom Perignon champagne!  A definite perk of the job! Greg and his family were so welcoming and such fun to be around.  You can tell they are all genuinely good friends with each other and the laughter never stopped all day.  I stayed with Sarah, Greg’s lovely mum Christine and the bridesmaids while Tobiah hopped between the two cottages capturing all the final preparations.

The weather proved a little challenging but Greg’s dad, Adrian, came to the rescue and drove Sarah and her dad to the ceremony in his super cool, two-tone Land Rover.

The ceremony took place in the Glasshouse overlooking the maze.  There was so much emotion! Laughter and tears all the way through and a great atmosphere.  After the ceremony the clouds parted for a while and Sarah & Greg were able to walk out into the centre of the maze while the guests showered them with confetti.  A surprise waited for Sarah who was presented by her new mother-in-law with a white box.  As she opened the box lots of butterflies were released and fluttered away.  It was a really special moment and not something we have ever seen before; a real unique touch.

Before sitting down for the wedding breakfast, Sarah and Greg along with myself, Tobiah and Rebecca and George headed into the beautiful gardens of Combermere with the bridal party for some fun portraits and then into the woods with the happy couple for a few more before dinner.  The rain didn’t put us off and Sarah and Greg managed to stay dry.  We were so impressed with how up for it they were! Sarah had swapped her Jimmy Choos for some white Hunter wellies and they were both so patient, fun and easy to photograph.

After dinner, which involved certain guests from each table being nominated to carve the table’s roast lamb dressed up in chef hats and aprons, were the speeches.  Then it was time to hit the dance floor!

Sarah & Greg are such a lovely couple and we wish them every happiness.  Here are some of our favourite shots from this Combermere Abbey wedding.
