Spring Wedding Venues

Our first wedding of May brought us to one of our favourite venues, Thornton Manor. It was a pleasure to spend the day with these two lovely people, Jonni and Aimee. You may recognise them from their pre-wedding shoot photographs at Formby Beach but today was their wedding day and it began at East Lodge on the Thornton Manor estate. Here, Aimee was getting ready with her mum, aunty and two bridesmaids with the talented Made Up by Cathryn on make-up and Aimee’s hairdresser, Carina from Wayne Jones Hair Studio.

As usual, we captured the day as it unfolded – bridesmaids chatting, make-up and hair being perfected, the bride making herself a ham sandwich…nothing escapes us!

A Wedding Dress With A Difference

Aimee had chosen a stunning Nicole Spose wedding dress from Elizabeth Louise Bridal Boutique in a subtle blush pink tone with a full skirt finished off with pretty accessories and shoes.

Laura stayed at East Lodge while the girls continued getting ready as Tobiah headed across to see the boys. Jonni was looking very dapper in his dark purple suit and the groomsmen as the guys helped him get ready and keep those pre-wedding nerves at bay.

Back at the girls’ cottage, Aimee was about to get into her dress. With help from her bridesmaids she was soon ready to go! Dougie from Thornton Manor came across to collect her for the ceremony in the Manor House.

Christian Wedding Ceremony

Jonni and Aimee are both very involved at and passionate about their local church in Warrington and the band from their church had set up in the Music Room for the ceremony. They are all extremely talented and were playing a little background music before the ceremony as the guests were seated in anticipation of the bride.

Aimee and her dad were waiting at the doors to the Music Room as Aimee’s uncle Mike started the ceremony. It was so nice for the ceremony to be conducted by someone so close to the couple and he did an excellent job.

After the ceremony was over, a final song was sung before the new Mr & Mrs P exited as husband and wife. They hid themselves a way for a few minutes as the rest of the guests left the Music Room outside. The guests waited along the pathway, armed with confetti as Aimee and Jonni joined them outside.

Prosecco & Bouncy Castles!

The drinks reception was well underway when guests caught sight of the bouncy castle outside and Gladiator style knockout inflatable! It was enjoyed by little kids and bigger kids (including one guest who managed to completely rip their trousers from front to back!) until it was time to be seated for the wedding breakfast. Meanwhile, Aimee and Jonni were enjoying chatting with guests before a few family photographs and portraits of just the two of them in the stunning grounds of Thornton Manor. It was then back to the Music Room for the wedding breakfast.

The wedding breakfast food was Mexican themed! Think burritos, guacamole and nachos – yum. After everyone had enjoyed their food it was time for the speeches. We heard from Aimee’s dad, the dashing groom and best man, Phil.

Lego Wedding Cake!

After the final speech, everybody came into the hall for the cake cutting. Aimee and Jonni had chosen an amazing cake design of half iced traditionally and the other with Lego men rolling back the icing to reveal little sugar Lego bricks. It looked great!

The evening guests soon started to arrive and the ceilidh band, Triple Scotch Ceilidh Band, were setting up ready for the first dance. Lots of the guests got involved with the ceilidh and seemed to be enjoying it still as we said our goodbyes.

Thank you so much to Jonni and Aimee for choosing us as your wedding photographers. Enjoy the photos!
