Our last day of 2017 was spent behind the lens taking Alex & Matt’s Colshaw Hall wedding photos! This is their New Year’s Eve wedding at Colshaw Hall. Colshaw Hall is one of the most local wedding venues for us in Cheshire.  It’s only 10 minutes from our house which is awesome and makes us love it even more! So after a very short journey arrived to start capturing the fun that was unfolding up in the Bridal Suite. Alex and best friends, Emily and Cassie, were getting ready with the help of make-up artist, Dani. During the morning the excellent team at Colshaw came to check if there was anything the girls needed and toastmaster, Ken Hollett to run through the plan for the day. Ken was so great to have on hand all day, a true professional, especially as he only stepped into the role at very short notice.

Tobiah headed across the landing to see the groom and the guys. As the ceremony was late afternoon, Matt had what appeared to be quite a chilled morning! We spotted him reading the Bentley catalogue in one of the rooms downstairs, a welcome distraction from the pre-wedding nerves I’m sure!

RED FLORAL ARCHITECTURE

Meanwhile in the Ceremony Room, Mat and his team from Red Floral were busy assembling one of their iconic displays. This particular Red Floral wedding featured lots of wisteria, white and hundreds of candles. It looked amazing and provided a cosy, elegant space for Alex & Matt’s winter wedding ceremony.

Back upstairs in the main hall, Laura was with Alex and Tobiah was with Matt as they were both in the final stages of getting ready. Alex’s custom wedding dress had been handmade in Chester along with the bridesmaids’ dresses and her mum’s outfit. stunning. She looked so beautiful! The handsome groom looked awesome too in his white dinner jacket and black tie. He was busy welcoming his and Alex’s guests when the time came for Alex and her lovely dad, Dave, to start making their way to The Stables for the ceremony.

CANDLELIT WEDDING CEREMONY

After a couple of readings and a great ceremony conducted by Your Ceremony, Alex & Matt were officially husband and wife! The sun had started to set outside but that didn’t stop their guests lining up in the dusk to shower them with confetti! Time for champagne in the Pavilion! Team Red Floral were adding the final touches to the Peel Suite for the wedding breakfast. It looked so atmospheric and everyone was amazed when it was time for the guests to be seated and all was revealed.

The bride and groom had left lots of time in their wedding day schedule to enjoy time with their guests. The speeches, lead by Ken Hollett, were filled with tales and little stories. Mainly about the first time the groom met his future in-laws and Alex and Matt meeting at work. We love the speeches and feel really privileged to have an insight into all of the different life events and fortunate accidents that lead to this day.

 NEW YEAR’S EVE WEDDING!

Alex and Matt had organised a few top secret surprises for their guests in the evening. As it was New Year’s Eve, a Scottish bag piper had been waiting in the wings until the clock struck midnight before coming on to the dance floor playing Auld Lang Syne. He bagpiper lead Alex & Matt along with their guests out into the courtyard for an epic surprise firework display. A magical end to the perfect day.

A massive thank you to our bride and groom for choosing us as your Colshaw Hall wedding photographers, the team at Colshaw Hall (particularly Shelley!) and the rest of the excellent suppliers below that we are so privileged to work with regularly.
