Where do I begin!? This was a wonderful day from start to finish and it was such a privilege to photograph the wedding of two of the loveliest people you could meet.
Hawkstone Hall – A true Gem
Chrissy and Luke held their wedding celebrations at the stunning Hawkstone Hall in Shrewsbury. Hawkstone is fast becoming one of our favourite wedding venues and we are booking more and more at this fantastic venue. With its rich history and stunning features, it’s no wonder why this venue has become a favourite among soon-to-be-wed couples. It really is one of the best venues in the UK.
Nestled amidst the enchanting Shropshire countryside, Hawkstone Hall has a fascinating past that adds an extra layer of charm to any wedding celebration. Originally built in the early 18th century, this grand Georgian mansion has served as a family home, a Catholic seminary, and even a school. Today, it stands as a meticulously restored venue, showcasing its opulent architecture and providing an unforgettable backdrop for weddings.
Rainy Wedding Day? No Problem – Use the Winter Garden!
One of the standout features of Hawkstone Hall is the Winter Garden, a magnificent conservatory that exudes timeless beauty. No matter the weather, this enchanting space remains bright and airy, making it the perfect spot for capturing those cherished wedding portraits. Even on a wet day, the soft natural light cascades through the glass, creating a dreamy atmosphere for stunning photographs.
Going to the chapel!
Chrissy and Luke’s wedding ceremony took place in the chapel at Hawkstone Hall, adorned with exquisite decorations by the talented team at “Dusky Blooms.” The floral arrangements perfectly complemented the venue’s grandeur, adding an extra touch of romance.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds led their guests to Hawkstone Hall for a delightful drinks reception and canapés.
Wedding Breakfast
From the elegant table settings to the enchanting floral centerpieces, every element of this wedding had been carefully planned and helped to create a memorable experience for Chrissy & Luke’s family and friends.
The wedding breakfast was a joyous occasion, filled with amazing food (thank you so much for the 3 courses guys!) and heartwarming speeches. The couple’s friends and family gathered around, toasting to the newlyweds’ happiness. As a wedding photographer, it was a privilege to capture the raw emotions and fleeting moments that make weddings so magical.
Golden hour wedding photos at Hawkstone Hall
For sure, the very best time to take photos at Hawkstone is during the Golden hour. The venue is blessed with an amazing grounds and the light especially to the rear is just perfect at Golden hour.
As the golden hour approached, Chrissy and Luke stole a few precious moments away from the festivities for a short romantic photoshoot. 15 minutes is all it takes to create some editorial style wedding photos. The setting sun bathed the rolling hills and lush gardens of Hawkstone Hall in a warm glow, creating an ethereal backdrop for their portraits.
The day culminated in a memorable first dance and a sparkling sparkler exit. From start to finish, Chrissy and Luke’s wedding at Hawkstone Hall was full of joy and happiness.
