To be asked to photograph any wedding is a true privilege, to be chosen by two people to capture the most special day in their lives is a real honour and this wedding was no different. But instead of just hopping in our car the night before or the morning of the wedding to travel there, this time we took a plane, hired a car, visited some beautiful Italian towns on the way and arrived in Milan!
Our morning began at Villa Zanchi in Bergamo, Milan where Zamira was getting ready with the help of the super-talented make-up artist, Daris of Daris Hair & Make-up and hair stylist. We took to photographing all of the details, including the most amazing Jimmy Choos and Tiffany bridal jewellery.
Tobiah went to capture what was happening over at the boys’ hotel while Laura stayed with Zamira and the ladies.
Davide and his right-hand man Vincenzo looked awesome in their dinner suits and after the finishing touches and a few portraits were ready to go to Villa Zanchi for the wedding to begin!
The ceremony was held in one of the many elegant rooms at the villa, there was so much emotion and with the perfect soundtrack provided by Daniel and the band, it was very special.
All of the guests enjoyed aperitivo with the newlyweds in the sunshine before we stole Zamira and Davide away for some photographs and had a little stroll through the beautiful grounds outside. There are so many different areas for Villa Zanchi wedding photographs, which made our job very easy, plus we just had fun!
After the most fabulous wedding breakfast (we lost count of the courses!) it was time to cut the wedding cake outside on the lawn before everybody headed back inside for the party to start!
Sparklers, the best DJ and hundreds of mini-deserts made the evening reception one to remember! Slideshows and videos made by family and friends and dancing made for a lovely end to one of the most elegant and beautiful days.
Zamira and Davide are two people that once you have met them, you instantly feel you will stay friends for a long time afterwards. From first meeting them for their pre-wedding shoot in Milan (which you can see our favourites from here) to waving them off from the steps of Villa Zanchi at the end of their wedding day, every minute spent with them was a dream. And a few words from the bride and groom.
Ciao piacere, noi siamo Zamira e Davide. Comincio’ tutto cosi. Una bellissima giornata di meta’ Aprile apre le porte al nostro incontro, direi anche quasi fortuito, con coloro che avrebbero per sempre immortalato il giorno piu` bello della nostra vita. Li vidi, Tobiah e Laura, seduti sulla panchina del loro Hotel. Belli, freschi, entusiasti di conoscerci. Fu come se li conoscessimo da sempre. Fu quasi amore a prima vista. Ci inoltrammo nella giungla Milanese, fatta di traffico e Boutique dalle vetrine scintillanti. Fermata Montenapoleone, diceva l’utoparlante nella Metropolitana e in meno che non si dica ci ritrovammo sul nostro set fotografico. La scelta della Location fu anche questa improvvisata. Saremmo volentieri andati sul Naviglio Grande ad immortalare qualche scena romantica. Camminare fino a li pero` non porto` al risultato sperato. Ci ritrovammo in viuzze che solo quel quartiere offre, ci lasciammo cosi`affascinare dal circondato, che non ci arrivammo ai Navigli. Ogni angolo divenne il set giusto per girare o meglio per scattare. Tobiah e Laura si impegnarono cosi` tanto che ad un certo punto fu` necessaria una pausa. Tiramiu` e Aperol Spizt consolarono la nostra fame. Tutto filava alla grande. Il sole comincio` poi a calare e il freddo a salire. Decidemmo quindi di tornare alle nostre dimore. Per i due Fotografi si prospettava una serata romantica in qualche bella Pizzeria, per i futuri sposi invece un’altra lunga serata tra liste invitati e ultimi ritocchi. Il giorno dopo ci svegliammo con leggerezza. Era venerdi. Giornata impegnativa, pranzo saltato, ultime consegne fatte, fiori decisi. La sera arrivo` in un baleno e ci ritrovammo tutti insieme per la tanto attesa “ notte prima del Matrimonio”. Tobiah e Laura, elegantissimi, si aggiunsero ad una compagnia di 34 persone tra parenti e amici. I piu` intimi. Cena galante, raffinata, dal sapore deciso e italiano. Stavamo pregustando quello che sarebbe accaduto l’indomani. Sabato mattina. Sveglia presto, tutto pronto per la “Bridal Preparations”. Lo sposo in ansia accoglie tutti gli invitati, mentre la sposa si fa quattro risate con la mamma nervosa, la nonna emozionata, il papa super orgoglioso e la testimone tuttofare. Non vedevo l’ora che la cerimonia iniziasse, volevo dire SI a squarciagola e sposare l’uomo che amavo. Tutto fini` in men che non si dica. Ci ritrovammo a danzare il nostro primo Disco da marito e moglie. I Fotografi sempre attenti a immortalare tutto, nulla fuggiva ai loro sguardi attenti e professionisti. Qualche foto in giardino, altre all’interno, molte estemporanee. I sorrisi spontanei sono i piu`belli, i piu`emozinanti e i piu` veri. Tobiah e Laura hanno saputo coglierli. Non c’è foto che non parli e non racconti tutto di quel momento. Siamo grati a loro per lo splendido lavoro fatto, per l’emozione che ci permetto di rivivere, ogni volta, grazie alle loro foto. Un colpo al cuore ci colpisce ogni volta che sfogliamo l’ Album. Li riabbracceremmo e perché non sbaciucchieremmo volentieri ancora per dir loro GRAZIE. La distanza ci tiene separati, ma grazie alle loro foto sono sempre con noi come la gioia che provammo quel VENTITRE` APRILE DUEMILASEDICI.
