Jen & Cihan – The Midland Hotel – Morecambe
This is the wonderful wedding of Jen & Cihan, who were married in Morecambe. They had their wedding reception at the brilliant art-deco Midland Hotel.
A huge thank you to Jen & Cihan and all of their friends for making us feel so welcome on the day! Thanks also for providing us with a hotel room, it was so lovely to stay over and have breakfast with you all the next morning!
It was also great to work alongside Aaron of Reel Weddings. We’ve long admired his work and it was great to work with him on the wedding day.
Our day started as usual by going to meet the nervous bride and photograph her getting ready with her close friends and family. Jen was getting ready in one of the luxurious roof top suites at the Midland and it was a stunning backdrop for our bridal preparation photographs. These rooms have the most AMAZING view across the sea at Morecambe Bay over to mountains in the Lake District. Jen is such a lovely person and was a pleasure to photograph. I had the privilege of staying with her and the girls (and the wonderful Lewis) whilst Tobiah went to Jen & Cihan’s stylish home just a few minutes away to catch up with the boys and their pooch.
The ceremony was held in a local church then the guests were taken to the Packet Bridge Fish & Chip Shop which is owned by Cihan and his brothers. They enjoyed mini fish and chips (which were the best we’ve ever tasted!) then it was back to the Midland for cocktails. Vicky & the team at the Midland provide an amazing service to suppliers as well as the couple and their guests. It is one of our favourite places to photograph not just for the superb architecture and quirky interior but because of the delightful people that work here too. We ventured out for some portraits onto the beach before heading in for dinner and speeches.
The evening was so much – Jen & Cihan had added a photobooth to their wedding photography package and everyone loved it! Cihan is notorious for his killer dance moves and certainly lived up to his reputation on the dance floor! This wedding was epic. From start to finish we loved every moment!
