A Crazy Golf Wedding in Summer

Meet Kate & Matt who celebrated in style at the enchanting Combermere Abbey in Shropshire this summer.

We travelled over to Wallasey to capture Kate and her bridesmaids getting ready together at her family home in the morning before Tobiah journeyed a few minutes away to catch up with Matt and Team Groom!

The marvellous ladies of The Dollz team were taking care of hair and make-up for the ladies and everyone looked extra beautiful, especially our lovely bride, Kate. With lots of chatter and laughter filling the house, the atmosphere was perfect. It got even better as the excitement builded when it was time for Kate getting into her wedding dress. None of the bridesmaids had seen her in the dress before so after eagerly waiting on the landing while Kate’s mum, Margaret, helped her daughter into her wedding dress, the bridesmaids reaction was lovely to capture!

Meanwhile, over at Kate & Matt’s home, Tobiah was in the garden with the boys who were all suited up and ready to headed to the church but not before a quick beer in the bar Matt had made!

Going To The Chapel!

Back with the bride, the bridesmaids and flower girls, it was time to go to the church for the ceremony. The church was already full of guests and the groom-to-be waiting at the top of the aisle when Kate and her dad arrived just behind the bridesmaids and adorable flower girls. The ceremony began and after readings, hymns and promises made, the new Mr & Mrs left the church through a tunnel of confetti and into the wedding car. Time to go to to Combermere!

Arriving at the wedding venue

As we’d left with the bride and groom ahead of the guests, we arrived at Combermere Abbey before any guests so took advantage of using the abbey itself and surrounding grounds for a few relaxed photographs. The glass house was full of their closest family and friends when Kate and Matt arrived into the drinks reception all wanting to offer their congratulations and plenty of hugs and kisses!

After a while, we started the family photographs before the guests were to be seated in the pavilion for the wedding breakfast. Mat and his team at Red Floral had been at work in the pavilion to transform it into a stunning, flower-filled space featuring their synonymous larger-than-life displays and centrepieces.

Once the guests were seated, the wedding breakfast and speeches could begin. The reactions to stories from the best man are some of our favourite to capture! We almost always come away with a photograph of the groom with his head in his hands after cringing at one of the stories that has been related!

Wedding Crazy Golf, Cake Cutting & Dancing!

As the evening drew in, everyone enjoyed playing Crazy golf! What fun it was. Crazy golf at a wedding is so so fun – such a great idea.

Kate and the ladies then headed out on to the lawn for the throwing of the bouquet! It was caught by Kate’s Maid of Honour, despite the best efforts of some of the ladies involved (as you can see from the photos below!)

Back inside the pavilion, the cutting of the cake and first dance kicked off an evening of dancing and pulling some killer dance moves! We said goodbye as Kate and Matt were surrounded by the people who love them the most and closed on the most amazing day at their Combermere Abbey wedding.

Thanks to these two wonderful people for choosing us to be your Combermere Abbey wedding photographers.
