A Summertime Peckforton Castle Wedding

We met for these two lovely people for the first time at their home in Cheshire for cups of tea, chatting and to discuss the plan of the day for their Peckforton Castle wedding, a wedding that had been in the making for 20 years!

Laura Mayers was on hair and make-up and Tanya, with her closest friends, was getting ready in one of many beautiful bedrooms in the castle.

The bride had chosen the most elegant and intricately detailed Graziana Valentini wedding dress and Lucy Choi shoes, the perfect combination.

Tobiah headed off to catch up with Dylan and his groomsmen leaving Laura with the ladies who had been joined by the flower girls. The time for the ceremony was approaching fast and so it was time for Tanya to put on her wedding dress. Tanya’s dad arrived to walk her down the aisle so the wedding could begin.

A Wedding Ceremony in The Great Hall

The Great Hall had been decorated simply with vibrant floral arrangements from The Flower Room in Altrincham adorning the aisle where the lovely groom and his best man were waiting at the top.

The ceremony included a reading from two of the couple’s closest friends who themselves had been married for a very long time, very fitting then to do a reading about marriage!

Tanya & Dylan both wanted a reading from the bible and for a beloved hymn to be sang.  This took place once the registrars had left and the civil ceremony was over. The acoustics of the Great Hall were excellent as singing from the guests filled the room.

Drinks & Canapés at Peckforton

Walking up the aisle and out into the sunshine, the new Mr & Mrs were joined by their guests and the drinks reception began.  Many of the guests were friends that Dylan and Tanya had had for many years and seeing the strength of their friendships and the love those closest to them have for these two was really special.

After a few family photographs in front of the castle, we nipped out into the woods with Dylan and Tanya in the dappled sunshine. Back inside the castle walls, it was time for the wedding breakfast to begin in the Drawing Room.

After dinner and some speeches, that included the video messages and a unique musical speech from the best man, who’d written a song for the bride and groom.

A Wedding Cake with a Difference!

After the speeches were finished and tears of laughter wiped away, the guests enjoyed the fading evening sunshine before coming back inside to cut the wedding cake. They had chosen a wonderfully unique peacock cake design from Slattery’s in Manchester.

The dancing began soon after back in the Great Hall that had been turned around for the evening reception. A good ol’ dance was there perfect close on the perfect day. A huge thank you to Dylan & Tanya for choosing us to photograph their Peckforton Castle wedding. Please enjoy the photographs.
