Midland Hotel Wedding Photos – Jane & Michael
Mix elements of giant paper flowers, Tim Burton, steampunk, the 1930s and add THE most creative and talented DIY bride and you’ve got one AMAZING wedding!
Jane of Beachcombers Bridal Boutique made everything for their wedding, and I mean everything! All executed so perfectly and with such detail and flare. From the boutonnieres to the groom’s steampunk cuff links made with old watch mechanisms. From her birdcage veil, majorly embellished shoes and handmade brooch bouquet to the ginormous flower wall which provided the backdrop for their “I Do”s. It was unreal!
We caught up with Jane in the morning in the Midland’s bridal suite, which, by the way, has the most captivating view over Morecambe Bay. Her hair was beautifully done by a friend who had traveled up from Bouremouth for the wedding and make up by the lovely Tanya Faye.
Before long, Tobiah went to capture a very nervous groom and his best man getting ready. Laura stayed with the ladies and the time soon melted away and it was time to head down the iconic staircase to the ceremony room. Accompanied by her very lovely dad, Jane walked down the aisle towards Michael and their little daughter who was waiting at the top of the aisle too.
After reading their sweetest, personal vows the ceremony was completed by the groom’s nephew playing along to “The Power of Love”.
The sun well and truly had its hat on and guests enjoyed canapés and cocktails over looking the bay. Paul Harper, a 1930s/40s style singer, provided the most authentic and unique soundtrack to the afternoon.
The wedding breakfast room was decorated with more nods to steampunk wedding and vintage tattoo themes. Jane had decorated their epic wedding cake and finished all of the tables with LEDs, birdcages and succulents in little cups to take home. Next came the 7 course taster menu! Tobiah and I were so blessed to be able to enjoy this too and we loved it! Hats off to the chef and staff at the Midland for looking after us so well (special thanks to Beau!) – everything was perfect.
The speeches naturally followed and the evening reception was kicked off by Kings Of The Dancefloor as the newlyweds danced to “Play that funky music white boy” for their first dance!
We loved every moment of this awesome Midland Hotel wedding. From the morning to the couple portraits on the pebbled beach as the sun was going down. Every bit.
