Session One formed early in 2004 and have built up a reputation as the one of the best upbeat funk, soul and pop function bands in the UK. The band is available in a variety of different line-ups, from the standard 6-piece, right up to the full 9-piece, which includes a live brass section and is perfect for larger functions. Session One perform at in excess of 100 events every year and, with each core member of the band a full-time fixture, a show of the highest quality is guaranteed.
With the soulful vocals of lead singers Louise & Lisa and the highly acclaimed band and backing vocalists, Session One have built up an outstanding repertoire of the best of funk, soul & pop classics including Son Of A Preacher Man, Superstition and I Want You Back, as well as current chart hits from artists including Christina Aguilera, Girls Aloud and Beyoncé. This year we have introduced a whole range of new tracks to our usual repertoire. The band regularly perform at Corporate Events, Music Festivals and Private Functions across the UK and Internationally, with previous clients including; The Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Celtic Manor Resort, Guoman Hotel Management, The Thistle Hotel Network, GE Capital Bank, Bourne Leisure Group, Exeter University, Guilfest and Glastonbury Festival.
Having played in countries as far and wide as Abu Dhabi for the Sheraton Hotels New Years Eve Party, Italy at the Pennibilli Music Festival, Ireland at the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival and the Greek island of Mykonos as a guest of Contiki Holidays, Session One can cater for any event, anywhere in the world.

Session One is a function band of highly talented musicians who have performed with artists as diverse as Pato Banton (singer of ‘Baby Come Back’) to Ace (Guitarist for Skunk Anansie). Lisa has worked with a number of DJs and has recently had her vocals featured on Bounce Mania 2009, compiled and mixed by KB Project. Louise has worked alongside Head (producer with Massive Attack, PJ Harvey) to produce an album under contract with NAIM Records. Most recently, Rob (keys) has had an original track featured on the hit US TV show, Flash Forward. Other artists worked alongside include those from Feeder, Little Angels and Wishbone Ash, recording with those from The Wailers, The Rumble Strips, Ronan Keating, Darius and Chesney Hawkes. Playing gigs at venues from The Celtic Manor Resort – Wales to The Colston Hall – Bristol and many top London venues including The Borderline, The Garage, The Mean Fiddler and Jazz Cafe has meant the band are well versed at performing to sell out crowds on large stages.
