This is the marvellous wedding of Sophie at Michael! Their Eastnor Castle wedding took place at the beginning of September and the sun shone all day long. Sophie & her bridesmaids were getting ready together in the bridal suite when we arrived.  There was excitement in the air and the room was a hive of activity with bridesmaids and Sophie having their hair done by Valerie from Big Hair Day and a lovely hair stylist from Worcester.  Sophie and the girls did their own make-up and enjoyed some sandwiches, prosecco and alcohol-free beer as the ceremony approached!  The time arrived for Sophie to put on her exquisite Pronovias wedding dress.  The A-line skirt and intricate details and beading on the back made it truly special, we loved it! The bridesmaids hadn’t seen the dress before the day so they hid outside the room while Sophie was given a helping hand by her mum.

Meanwhile, across the landing, Michael and the groomsmen were ready for the ceremony and were heading downstairs to greet the guests arriving at Eastnor.  Michael’s sister was rehearsing the Einaudi piece on the piano she was going to play for Sophie walking down the aisle.

Back in the bridal suite, Sophie was ready for the big reveal! The photos below show the bridesmaids reaction and it was safe to say, they were blown away by how amazing Sophie looked in her wedding dress.

With the bride ready, it was time for the ceremony to begin.

Making An Entrance

Instead of the guests being seated ahead of the ceremony in the drawing room, at this particular Eastnor Castle wedding, they were waiting at the bottom of the grand staircase.  The staircase was Sophie’s aisle! Michael was waiting with his groomsmen at the bottom of the stairs to meet his bride.  As Nuvole Bianche by Einaudi played, Sophie and her lovely dad followed the bridesmaids down the staircase.  Once at the bottom, the bride and groom led their guests into the drawing room for the ceremony.

After ‘I Do’s and signing the register, the newlyweds headed out into the sunshine onto the terrace at the back of Eastnor Castle for the drinks reception.  The views over the lake and gardens were enjoyed by the guests as they enjoyed their champagne and canapés.  We always love to capture the guests congratulating the bride and groom and chatting amongst themselves, maybe catching up with an old friend or making new acquaintances.  We feel this represents people as they truly are and shows their personality and character more than a posed photograph.

Wedding Photography In Hertfordshire

After lots of time to enjoy being with their family and friends, Sophie and Michael  spent some time with us in the grounds of Eastnor Castle after some relaxed family photographs.  There are so many pretty and unique areas at Eastnor Castle to use to created stunning wedding photographs.  We chose some of our favourite areas before heading back into the castle for the wedding breakfast.

Dinner & Speeches in the State Dining Room

Guests applauded and cheered as Sophie & Michael were seated in the State Dining Room for the wedding breakfast and festivities could begin.  Along with creating the bouquets for Sophie and her bridesmaids, The Great British Florist had decorated the State Dining Room too. Their slogan is ‘Grown Not Flown’ and their stunning flowers are hard to beat!

Ben and his wonderful team at Eastnor Castle looked after everyone so well and as the afternoon turned into evening, the fun was only just beginning!

After dinner and speeches, the bride and groom cut their wedding cake from McGowan Wedding Cakes and then it was on to the dance floor! Their first dance was an Arctic Monkeys classic, ‘Baby, I’m Yours’.  About halfway through, their guests joined them on the dance floor.

Sophie & Michael’s Eastnor Castle wedding coincided with the Eastnor Fireworks competition that was held just across the lake! Lots of the guests came out on to the terrace to enjoy the displays and the last photo below is a quick snap we got just before we headed home.

A huge thank you to this wonderful couple for choosing us to be their Eastnor Castle wedding photographers. We loved being there and special thanks to Ben and Jodie for looking after us so well.  Please enjoy some of our favourites from the day below.
