Blair Castle Wedding Photographer
We had the most amazing time at this Blair Castle wedding in Pitlochry, Scotland.
Our day began at the stunning and luxurious Fonab Castle where our bride, her bridesmaids and the mums were enjoying champagne and getting ready together. We love getting to know everybody during the morning preparations and capturing lots of special unscripted moments. There was a great atmosphere in the morning that continued all day.
After capturing the bridal details and dress, Tobiah went to catch up with our groom and Laura stayed with the ladies.
The view over the loch from Fonab Castle is breathtaking and the water was so still; we couldn’t not use here as a backdrop for some portraits of Richard and his best man. We later took some shots of the bridesmaids and Rachel before they left for Blair Castle.
When we arrived at this Blair Castle wedding it was safe to say that all of the guests had one thought when they arrived – WOW! It is such a majestic place. Though we’d visited the day before to scout out some areas for photographs on the wedding day, it was still breathtaking. The piper who was playing on the steps of the castle certainly added to the impact! Rachel and her dad arrived in style in a white vintage soft-top and excitedly hurried into the warmth of the castle to head to the ceremony.
Rachel was played in by bagpipes and the ceremony began. After they had become Mr & Mrs, guests and the newlyweds enjoyed champagne and canapés together before we headed outside for some photographs before the winter sun faded.
Next followed dinner, speeches and dancing – when we say dancing it was more like “extreme ceilidh-ing!” Such an amazing choice of band and so fun to photograph! Then I t was time for us to say goodbye and head off back to our little hotel in Pitlochry before driving home the following day. We had such an amazing time and felt so welcome by all.
